365 Local Influencer: Day 3

CHALLENGE: TOP LOCAL EATS

Most cities/communities have an established Chamber of Commerce. The mission of most of these organizations is to highlight local business owners, host monthly events, and connect local businesses with the community. Being a part of your local Chamber of Commerce is a fantastic opportunity to connect with other business owners and highlight your involvement in the chamber to your social and local sphere.

In our first challenge, we’re encouraging our agents to Google their city name, followed by Chamber of Commerce, to figure out your local organization’s website. Sign-up and start attending some of the monthly meetings. Get connected with the President and those working the organization and offer your help for one of the events - to be more involved. Given your budget, you may be able to even offer hosting one of the events. Each Chamber of Commerce will have variances from city to city on how they manage their organization, but they all have a singular focus to highlight YOU as a business owner in the community. The best way to get the most out of your involvement is to be a part of the organization in any way you can, not just as an attending member to one of the events, but see if you can even get involved behind the scenes.

Head out to the weekly/monthly meetings, at least once in a while, with a purse full of business cards - and start connecting with people in your community. Your focus isn’t to “sell” your services, but it is to make genuine connections, share your contact info, and start building your sphere of influence in your local community.

If our members follow each step of the 365 day local influencer challenge, we guarantee that in 1 years time from now, you will become a local influencer in your community and grow your real estate business to incredible heights.

Most Chamber of Commerce organizations to have a membership fee. This fee covers the marketing and events members get to be involved in. They also offer a variety of tiers for their memberships. Again, depending on your budget, you may be able to hold a top tier membership for your local chamber and have your marketing all over the Chamber’s events and community. Utilize the tools available to you in your city and start making connections. You’ll grow your sphere of referrals and business on a larger scale making connections with real people in your community then you will ever by simply cold-calling.

ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE: If you accept this challenge, spend the day searching your local Chamber of Commerce and sign up to become a member.
